Talent Bootcamp Ally Program

We are actively looking for volunteers to help drive the adoption and success of this program. Commitments are as small as 30 minutes a week and are a great way to give back to the community.

Talent Bootcamp Ally Program

Talent Bootcamp is a not-for-profit organization that provides free classroom and real world training to underrepresented Talent Acquisition professionals in the business-tech community. The program delivers a best in class playbook developed by founder Eric Guidice in building his career across start-ups like Uber, Bird Scooters, and other unicorn tech companies. The bootcamp teaches the strategic foundation that tech companies use to rapidly scale headcount, as well as the technology, process and tactical recruiting skills it takes to succeed.

The Ally’s Role:

As a Talent Bootcamp Ally you will provide monthly strategic, tactical, and career focused mentoring sessions to students who have successfully exited the program as a resource post-graduation. The Bootcamp’s mission is to empower underrepresented students with the skills and training necessary to advance their careers.  As an Ally, your role is to mentor and guide a graduate as they implement what they’ve learned into a real world environment with new process, technology, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Talent Bootcamp curriculum, culture, product, strategic direction, and mission, and use this knowledge to support students throughout the program

  • Coach students through 1:1 work sessions where they apply classroom knowledge to exercises that mimic real world experiences in Talent

  • Mentor a new graduate as they exercise what they’ve learned in the real world, such as, the job scoping process, creating impactful job descriptions,  and scorecards to maximize recruiting efficiency

  • Contribute real world knowledge to the curriculum about technologies, processes, and trends that may enhance the experience of the student

  • Provide updates and refreshers from Talent Bootcamp to students on relevant topics during your monthly mentorship session

  • Previous experience hiring for, and reporting to, executives directly

  • Previous experience reporting on key funnel metrics to executive stakeholders regarding recruitment performance

  • Experience operating within and holding others accountable to a system centric recruitment process

  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and the ability to navigate competing priorities
